USER GUIDELINES

Preperation

Make sure all furniture and floors are covered in the room you are installing your brick product. Use dust sheets to prevent a large clean up after you have completed your feature wall.

Check the wall to ensure it is solid and there are no loose particles such as flaking paint, wallpaper or arfex. If there is then ensure this is removed before installing to allow the brick slips to fully band to the wall.

* Remove any skirting boards or caving to allow an authentic finish to your feature wall. Keep these by should you wish to install once your bricks are finished.

Remove any wali fixings and (ensuring the electric is switched off) unscrew any visible plug sockets and pull

them forward this will allow you to install behind for an authentic finish, re-attached once the project is

complete.

Plan

Measure out the wall.

Measure the length of the wall. For example the wall is 100cm wide. Find the centre of that wall. Once you have found the centre, use a level and pencil to mark the wall from top to bottom this gives you your centre. This is where you will begin fitting your brick product (unless you are using corners)

Now measure the length of one brick slip for exmaple 215mm. Half whatever your brick slip length (for this example 107.5mm) then draw another horziontal line next to the one you have already done half a bricks width from the original line (in this example you would draw a line 107.5mm away from the other line.

* Now you are set and ready to go open all your boxes of brick slip and mix them together to ensure variation.

Things I need!

* Brick Slips (from us of course)

How To Install Brick Slips/Tiles

Get Started

Mix your adhesive, following the guidelines on the back of the adhesive pocket mix to a thick consistency using your bucket trowel.

If using brick slips and you need to use external corners this will be your starting point. Starting from the

lowest point install your corners to make it look authentic flip your corners so you have one long corner and one short corner and continue all the way up. For strioght brick slips, and tiles starting from your first centre line install your first row of brick slips/tiles

using your 8mm trowel to spread adhesive to the wall and to the rear of the brick slip, when applying to the

wall push the brick slip/tile in to the adhesive to ensure a strong bond then use your spacers (if needed) to

space them apart from the next brick slip/tile. Once you get to the end of the first row it is likely you will

have a space either end where a full brick/tile doesnt fit.

To cut your brick slips/tiles to fit simply measure the gap between the wall and the last fitted brick, mark the brick slip/tile accordingly, and then using your wet tile cutter (in line with the instruction manual) cut your brick slip/tile to size. Once cut fit these in place

For your second row you will start from the second line you created this gives you the brick bond pattern and then install as above, you will then swap between both lines to get a consistent and even finish.

Clean Up

Once you have installed your brand new feature wall, and the brick slips/tile are dry and in place, take your hard wire brush in a small bucket of clean water and brush away any loose debris and adhesive whilst removing all spacers.

Hints And Tips

Make Sure you use a diamond blade on y on your wet wet cutter. This will g I give you a quick and clean cut surfaces use warm water it makes When cleaning brick tiles or Wh ch quicker to clean it much

If you have one use a laser level instead of a standard level this will ensure consistent lines When taking a break leave your trowels in warm water so the adhesive doesnt set on them. Ensure your room is well ventilated and use a mask
